A Meeting 23 Years in the Making

Many years ago, when the first residential building at Adullam House was being built, we found ourselves needing an attorney to help establish us legally.

A group of volunteers from a local church had come to help frame up the building, and during a lunch break, we were introduced to a gentleman in the group, Jason McCartha, who was an attorney. We shared our need and he said he would pray about helping us. He called us back some time later and said that during a morning devotion time, he and his wife had read in the book of James about “pure religion” being to “care for the fatherless,” and the Lord had put it on their hearts to step in and provide the legal counsel we needed.

With Jason’s help, we were able to have a key meeting with the heads of the state organizations we needed to work alongside and… Adullam House was legally established! After so many years of prayer, we were finally able to step in and rescue those who needed us most. During this pivotal meeting, we received news that a baby was actively being born and would need to come to Adullam House. God is always on-time!

That baby did come to Adullam House. He had some serious health issues and the doctors weren’t sure if he would ever walk or talk.

Fast forward twenty-three years, and that young man, Logan, is now married and has just graduated university with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He received a scholarship as a student athlete—YES—the baby doctors said would not walk! God goes ABOVE and BEYOND!

Logan will be taking his LSAT this fall to enter law school. Can we just thank God for His faithfulness?!!

Recently, on Father’s Day, Logan and his wife met Jason, that same attorney who helped pave the way while he was being born! What a special moment. Only God writes stories like this.

Thank you to those who have prayed, given, swung a hammer, or rocked a baby. You’re in this story!
